Embora pareça que todos os Pokémon conseguem entender a fala humana, poucos podem se comunicar com os humanos, a não ser através de linguagem corporal. Existem exceções para isso, mas depende da versão do mundo Pokémon que está sendo retratado.
Abaixo podes ver quais os Pokémons que já foram vistos a falar a língua humana no Anime,filmes e especiais:
Meowth é o mais famoso Pokémon que fala e o mais comum de se ver.
Seu clone nos filmes Mewtwo Strikes Back e Mewtwo Returns não consegue falar, porque Meowth não nasceu sabendo falar a linguagem humana e sim aprendeu a falar a língua humana.
Um Tentacruel no episodio Tentacool and Tentacruel falou com Meowth a língua humana usando telepatia.
Um Gastly no episódio The Ghost of Maiden's Peak tem a habilidade de falar.
